Overview

Mass General Brigham is committed to training, teaching, and educating the next generation of health care professionals.

Affiliated with Harvard Medical School, our physicians, researchers, and faculty are part of a vibrant medical community. As a core mission pillar, education is at the heart of what we do to advance health care. Because we are built on a legacy of medical discovery, our clinician-researchers push the boundaries of knowledge and advance medicine in new and innovative ways that benefit our patients. From routine care to the most complex cases, we offer comprehensive, full-circle clinical care to our patients.

Academic medical centers

Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital are the two largest Harvard-affiliated teaching hospitals.

The culture of academic medical centers is one of innovation, passion, and advancement of the status quo. As a patient at an academic medical center, you will benefit from this environment in constant pursuit of excellence. Our faculty and staff go above and beyond to provide superior care and are equipped with the most recent clinical trials and opportunities for continued education.

In addition, faculty physicians learn from teaching others and explaining their decisions to learners. Learners bring a unique, unbiased perspective to your care, and consider options others may overlook. The educational opportunities at Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital attract the most talented learners, some of whom are already licensed providers who have chosen to continue their training in a more specialized field.

Alumni Association

The Mass General Brigham Alumni Association is a community of clinicians who share the experience of having completed medical training through any Mass General Brigham Graduate Medical Education program or a postdoctoral appointment. Through this community, the Alumni Association seeks to provide continued education and mentorship opportunities for Mass General Brigham alumni in order to advance patient care across the communities our alumni serve.
