Visiting Our Facilities

We are committed to the safety of our patients, visitors, support persons, staff, and community.

Mass General Brigham understands that visitors and support persons are valuable parts of your health and well-being. The safety of our patients, staff, and community is very important to us.

All potential visitors and support persons (including birth partners, parents/caregivers of pediatric patients, attorneys of patients, and designated support persons for patients with disabilities) should review the specific facility's website for details before visiting.

Inpatient areas

Mass General Brigham hospitals permit two patient visitors at a time per patient. Support Persons are considered in addition to the patient visitors.

Under some circumstances, facilities may need to restrict visits more than the above.

Outpatient areas

One patient visitor or support person is allowed in outpatient areas (areas for patients who are not admitted to the hospital, for example, in the emergency room, surgical or procedural rooms, or clinics).

Please note that in some situations, we may need to limit visitors to ensure patient and staff safety.

Check your symptoms

Please delay your visit to one of our facilities if:

  1. You develop any of the following symptoms:
    Fever or chills
    Cough, congestion, or runny nose
    Vomiting or diarrhea
    New skin rash (with fever)

    OR

  2. You are diagnosed with or exposed to COVID-19 within 10 days of an appointment.
