Welcome to GPS

We are here to offer expert advice on hospital-sponsored visas.

The Mass General Brigham Office for Global Professionals and Scholars (GPS) provides immigration services for Mass General Brigham Institutions, enabling access to talented professionals from all over the world.

Logistical hurdles are common when traveling to the United States to conduct advanced studies, medical work, or research. The GPS website offers resources for scholars and professionals settling into their new personal and professional lives in the greater Boston area.

Mass General Brigham is a not-for-profit health care system committed to top quality, innovative patient care, research, teaching, and service to the local and global community. Our vision is to share those same values with those who wish to expand their professional, educational, or research experience by coming here from abroad.

It is our goal to ensure regulatory compliance for international researchers and professional staff participating in Mass General Brigham programs. By facilitating compliance, GPS enables visiting professionals to focus on their work and their cultural exchange in America.

Services we offer

Whether you are about to travel to the United States to work at a Mass General Brigham institution or you’re an administrator involved in supervising foreign nationals, GPS can help guide you through every step of the process.

GPS helps to process visa sponsorship requests for all non-immigrant staff, scholar, and student visas (including J-1, J-2, H-1B, TN, E-3, and O-1 visas).

GPS helps to advise both the hiring department and the Foreign National about amending and extending visa status.

GPS provides an international orientation for newly arrived researchers, which includes information about visa requirements and adjusting to life in the United States.

GPS provides updates for the Mass General Brigham community on an ever-changing immigration environment

The GPS website is available as a resource for visiting scholars and professionals to assist in their transition to their personal and professional lives in Massachusetts.
