Lindsay Gainer, RN, MSN, is the President and Chief Operating Officer of the Mass General Brigham Medical Group. In her role, Lindsay is responsible for establishing a best-in-class, multi-specialty Medical Group and streamlining processes to optimize practice operations and improve services for patients, providers, and staff.

Lindsay has over 20 years of experience in health care and has been in clinical operations for most of her career. Upon establishment of the Medical Group in March 2023, Lindsay served as the Enterprise Vice President of Community Operations and has been instrumental in helping to build the new management structure for our employed community physician groups. Previously, Lindsay held a variety of roles within Mass General Brigham, having served as Interim President and Vice President of Operations at Mass General Brigham Integrated Care and Urgent Care, as well as Senior Executive Director of Innovation for Salem Hospital and North Shore Physicians Group (NSPG).

Lindsay received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and her Master of Science in Nursing and Health Care Systems from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC-Chapel Hill). Prior to joining our system, she served as Clinical Assistant Professor at UNC-Chapel Hill and Nurse Manager of the Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant Unit at Boston Children’s Hospital. Her scholarly achievements include multiple publications and presentations, and her research interests are in health care policy and systems issues, with primary focuses in quality, patient safety, process improvement, and professional development. Lindsay is active in multiple professional organizations and has served on the Board of Directors of the North Carolina Nurses Association and the Massachusetts Association of Registered Nurses.
