As President of Mass Eye and Ear, CarolAnn Williams is responsible for overseeing one of the largest specialty hospitals in the U.S. exclusively dedicated to research, training and treatment for eye, ear, nose, throat, head and neck issues. The hospital sees nearly 400,000 patients annually across over 20 patient care locations. A national research leader in bench-to-bedside research, Mass Eye and Ear receives more than $90 million in grant funding annually to find cures and treatments for a range of conditions in ophthalmology and otolaryngology.
Williams had previously served as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer. As COO/CFO, her vast responsibilities included Financial Services, Planning and Facilities, Support Services, Patient Access, Project Management, Information Services, Compliance, Privacy, Surgical and Clinical Services, and Business and Network Development.
As President of the Community Division and Chief Operating Officer of Service Lines, Community, and Specialty Academic Hospitals for Mass General Brigham, Williams oversees six community hospitals and the Mass General Medical Group, working closely with their Presidents/COOs to lead all aspects of operations, clinical care, performance, and strategic planning. She drives operational excellence through cross-functional leadership, aligning systemwide initiatives with mission-driven goals.
