Dr. Ayata is a Professor of Neurology at MGH. He specializes in Vascular Neurology and cares for patients with stroke and cerebrovascular disease. Dr. Ayata completed his medical training at Hacettepe University, neurology training at Tufts University, and Stroke and Neurocritical Care fellowship training at MGH. Dr. Ayata is also the Director of the Neurovascular Research Center, investigating treatments for ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, cerebral small vessel disease, and migraine.
