He had already started the AI recording before asking me or telling me he was going to do this. I did not want AI to be part of the visit and let him know that asking permission to use AI was not the same as telling me he was doing this and asking if I disagreed with his choice. No explanation of AI or why, but leaves the patient starting off in an uncomfortable encounter.

• The "fellow" was a good listener - which is not something I expect in a surgeon. He had a lovely bedside manner and a nice relaxed energy. In this kind of medical teaching hospital the boilerplate is to speak to the resident or fellow and then they summarize for the surgeon/doc. Dr Bedair also had a lovely bedside manner but I felt rushed and only got to spend a few minutes with him after more than an hour wait time. I wished I had more time for either of the providers to go over the imaging with me and to have a discussion about how the imaging relates to the decisions about my surgical options. I will definitely consider using Dr Bedair for any future surgeries as he has an excellent reputation.

He replaced my left knee in 2017 and my left knee is perfect no more pain and full mobility and it was hurting so bad before he replaced it. I feel like a kid again waiting for Christmas Day to get my presents and on [redacted] I'm going get my present with a brand new knee and without any pain , so can't wait for this to happen again.

• X-rays are extremely expensive these days. I just had x-rays done with MGB, of my horrible knees in January but I was forced to have x-rays done again because it was over six months. The doctor confirmed that not much has changed since January so I feel that surgery could have been decided upon by viewing my January x-rays. But because of the 6 month policy I will have another $1200 x-ray bill to pay off on top of surgery and physical therapy bills. The team was very helpful and understanding but that policy is frustrating with medical costs these days.
