She asked pertinent questions about my daily eye sight, and concluded, that I was the appropriate candidate for cataract surgery. I understood, that I would eventually need it, but on my previous visit two years ago...she wanted to hold off a bit to see how my condition was progressing. In other words she wanted to ensure the timing was appropriate, and not premature, which I appreciated.

Given that I have a new diagnosis, I would have appreciated being given more information about it and given tips on how I can contribute to slowing the progression of the disease. I needed more information about the test that I "failed" and what that failure meant. It is difficult for me to hear that I have this diagnosis of glaucoma and difficult for me to think about what the implications are. I don't know what "stage" we are in or the usual speed of progression. Rather than waiting for me to ask I questions, I needed the provider to be more proactive in giving me information.
