Those qualities are all the more valuable when dealing with an autoimmune disorder that is not understood intuitively. My previous rheumatologist, now at the U. of Michigan,said he would recommend me to the person he'd like to see if he had R.A. and he made sure I had an appointment with Dr. Dellaripa before he left for Michigan. From the outset (Jan. 2011), I knew I was in the best hands, and I am still sure of that.

He looked over my medical history and noticed a CT scan of my brain taken after a fall this winter which found small arteries in my brain and contacted my cardiologist who increased my statin dosage to prevent stroke. I told him about the horrible experience with my reclast injection and he is going to talk to that doctor to give me some medication to try to prevent problems with my second injection. Above and beyond. A true doctor interested in health.

He orders tests when he recognizes there might be a problem and follows through. He offered me great support as I move forward into surgery, and was helpful in the important step of finding a new cardiologist, since my cardiologist left in July.
