• Excellent for a first visit: Understood my hearing problem; explained the nature of it very well so I could understand; listened carefully to my questions; explained the what and the why; spoke about possible future treatment; understood and accommodated my need to know. He was gently realistic in explaining that I might not achieve the goal of getting my hearing back in my left ear based on what I told him, but I felt he would look further into the problem and he ordered hearing test for me. Dr. de Venecia showed empathy and respect. From all this, I knew he would do the best to help me recover whatever left ear hearing I could.

• I was grateful that he had enough time to be able to listen to a good portion, I think, of some of my symptoms. I shared some with the nurse. He did do follow-up tests that no one else had done for over a year and a half, which I'm really, really grateful for. And gave me some hope where I had none because I was told that this surgery was no longer being done anymore. And I'm like, no, I know it is. So although I think there's more, but who knows? I think the sinuses are an issue too. But I didn't really, I don't know. He tested that, so we'll see what happens. But I'm very grateful that I have some hope again because I was given up on medical people.

• Dr. DeV suggested I get a set of hearing aids capable of working with significant hearing loss in the higher frequencies of the audible spectrum. He suggest a MRI scan maybe needed in the future. He also set up future appointments to monitor my hearing loss I am pleased with the idea of continuing investigation of my problem.
