• All of the staff at this office on the 9th floor were wonderful. I was greeted nicely, seen in a timely way and treated with dignity and respect by all of them. I then went to the 11th floor for a voice therapy intake appointment. The support staff in that department was terrible. They were borderline rude and did not keep me updated on the what the plan was. The therapist was fine. On the way out it was a different person at the front desk but again they were almost rude. It was very surprising since I haven't had that happen in a long time.

I think he is top-notch and I would highly recommend him to anyone.

I was not scheduled on that day, but he offered me this appointment because I asked him to be seen earlier and he actually accommodated and he called me earlier when I arrived. • Dr. Ramon Franco is masterful in his field of medicine--laryngology. Dr. Franco is so skilled that when he feeds the laryngoscope down my nostril into the trachea, I don't feel any discomfort. Other physicians have done this procedure on me before without the same results. I experienced pain and discomfort. Dr. Franco and his team explain details to me so I can fully comprehend my diagnoses and care plans. He is kind and compassionate. No wonder he is a master lady geologist at Mass Eye and Ear.

• I found all of the physicians that were present at my appointment to be fairly intimidating and overwhelming (nothing they did wrong - there were too many people crammed into a small exam room.) At one point there were 7 people in the exam room. It was uncomfortable. I understand this is how physicians are trained and so on and so forth. Maybe cutting back on the amount of people allowed to attend these appointments. Even better, why not ask the patient if they are comfortable with having multiple physicians standing staring at you and your private and personal medical issues on display.

• Dr Franco and the staff of the Department of Laryngology listen well, communicate clearly and concisely. The office staff is efficient, enthusiastic, friendly and thorough in explaining what is needed prior to the office visit/consultation. They are also sensitive to the distances that patients travel to seek care at the clinic and then take extraordinary steps to obtain prior approvals and make room for the consultation and intervention/procedure to occur during the same visit. Dr. Franco is technically superb in his skill set, has a high emotional intelligence, is patient and compassionate when interacting with patients who have significant challenges with their voice quality. We are grateful to him, the staff, and the institution for the care that has been provided to us. As an aside the creator of this survey should change the noun from "provider" to a more appropriate, respectful descriptor. Clinician is a generic term but more accurate. Dr. Franco is a surgeon/physician and he should be referred to as such. This is a basic professional courtesy that should be extended to all physicians, physician associates, and nurse practitioners. Executive Leadership should honor, embrace and encourage this change.
