• I had a very wonderful experience with this provider. He was very knowledgeable. He helped me. My arm had been sore for three months and he was able to give me a shot that took the pain out of it. I couldn't use it for the last three months and I walked away feeling fantastic because I couldn't move my arm again without excruciating pain. I was very happy with my visit and I would come to see him again and I would recommend him to anybody. He was wonderful and his nurse was just as good. Thank you.

• Given the fact that I was meeting with a very experienced orthosurgeon, I was really delighted and impressed and appreciative of the time he spent with me, probably a good 30 minutes, explaining, examining me, explaining things, answering my questions about my shoulder and all sorts of other things. And frankly, I'm not used to having that kind of care and time and focus in some of the other systems I've been in. So kudos to the doc. And if that's the way he treats all his clients, all his patients, that's they're lucky people. So, you know, just 10 stars. So I really appreciate it a lot. Thank you.

• So happy I met with this orthopedic specialist. He explained everything to me in terms I could understand. He was patient and a good listener as well. Great bedside manner too. Would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone.

• Dr. Goertz comes across as very experienced knowledgeable and competent. However his manner during the visit was somewhat impatient and unfriendly at times. It felt obvious that he was in a rush to leave and seemed irritated by questions that me and my partner had for him. While I acknowledge that all key information was covered during the visit, I left feeling rushed and judged rather than cared for. A little bit more focus on soft skills would go a long way in my opinion.

• I've always been grateful and respectful of Dr. Goertz. This last appointment was exceptional because he switched from my knee to my shoulder because I had a dislocation and I'm not sure he was fully aware though I had notified through the patient portal. But despite being somewhat last minute for Dr. Goertz, he segued to address my shoulder issue which is obviously more critical. So much appreciated for Dr. Goertz. Thank you.

He also said there was no surgical option for my issue he thinks I have and I learned online that there most certainly is a procedure. He thoroughly assessed my issue and told me that I actually need to be seen by a different provider, which is disappointing only because I would have really liked to continue working with him. His manner was very welcoming, he listened to me carefully, and he had read over my chart enough to bring up an issue that I hadn't brought up because I didn't realize it might be related.

• It was difficult to get a word in edgewise with Dr. Goertz. While trying to explain my history of my injury, I was repeatedly interrupted and felt dismissed. I felt I had to ask a lot of questions to get medical advice on my options for treatment and that the explanations were occasionally unclear. Dr. Goertz spent the majority of the visit discussing my weight after I informed him of my history with disordered eating. While I understand he felt this was a professional obligation for my health, his emphasis was extreme. I wish instead of sharing generalized information about weight and overall health (not primarily orthopedic health), that we had spent more time on my treatment options and the implications of my x-ray results. I think it is inappropriate after a patient discloses mental health issues related to weight and food to then emphasize so strongly how horrible it is to be fat, as this creates a significant chance for mental health relapse and eating disorders come with so many serious health risks. While Dr. Goertz said repeatedly that this was not to shame anyone, this felt similar to saying "no offense" before saying something offensive- the shame was still felt.

He presented a multitude of options, went through the pros and cons of each, explained each option, and then allowed me to decide which one I wanted to choose.
