Daphne Haas-Kogan, MD, MBA, FACR, FASTRO, is Chair of the Department of Radiation Oncology at Mass General Brigham, Boston Children’s Hospital, The Chief of Enterprise Radiation Oncology, and the Willem and Corrie Hees Family Professor of Radiation Oncology at Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Haas-Kogan received her undergraduate degree in biochemistry and molecular biology magna cum laude from Harvard University, was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and was awarded the Thomas T. Hoopes Prize and summa cum laude for her Honors Thesis. While in medical school at UCSF she was an HHMI Medical Fellow and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. She completed her residency in radiation oncology at UCSF in 1997.

At UCSF she was vice-chair for research from 2003, and educational program director from 2008.

Dr. Haas-Kogan’s laboratory research focuses on molecular underpinnings of brain tumors and pediatric cancers. She leads large multi-institutional grants (U54, SPORE) funded by NIH/NCI, philanthropic initiatives, and industry collaborations. Dr. Haas-Kogan has been selected as a U.S. top physician, was appointed to the Blue Ribbon Panel of the National Cancer Moonshot Initiative, and was elected to the Association of American Physicians (AAP). Dr. Haas-Kogan was elected to the National Academy of Medicine, Fellow of the American College of Radiology (ACR), and Fellow of The American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO).  She was awarded the highest mentorship recognition at DFCI--The Edward J. Benz, Jr. Award for Advancing the Careers of Women Faculty.  Dr. Haas-Kogan was elected to serve as President of the Society of Neuro-Oncology. In 2025, she was nominated for the Pinnacle Award, honoring business and professional women who have demonstrated excellence in entrepreneurship, management, and lifetime achievement. In December of 2025, she received the Janeway Medal from the American Radium Society.
