Dr. Dmytro Havaleshko is a board-certified general and bariatric surgeon and a Fellow of both the American College of Surgeons and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS). Born in Ukraine, where he earned his medical degree, he always knew he wanted to be a surgeon—performing his first appendectomy at the age of 16 while still a student in medical college. He specializes in the most refined techniques of fully robotic, minimally invasive weight-loss and complex abdominal surgery and holds the prestigious Focused Practice Designation in Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery conferred by the American Board of Surgery.
As Medical Director of the Center for Weight Management at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital—an MBSAQIP-accredited Comprehensive Center—and leader of its Epicenter for robotic bariatric surgery, Dr. Havaleshko welcomes patients seeking the highest standard of care for weight-related challenges and general surgical conditions. He offers the complete spectrum of advanced, fully robotic procedures, including sleeve gastrectomy, Roux-en-Y gastric bypass, single-anastomosis duodeno-ileostomy with sleeve (SADI-S), complex revisional bariatric surgery, and body contouring, all delivered with precision, compassion, and uncompromising excellence. Notably, he pioneered the first robotic SADI-S procedure in the state of New Hampshire, refined the advanced internal liver retracting technique and many other innovations in robotic surgery.
Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Havaleshko serves on multiple ASMBS committees, is a frequent invited speaker for both ASMBS and the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders (IFSO), and serves as faculty for robotic fellowship training programs sponsored by both organizations, helping shape the next generation of bariatric surgeons while advancing the field of robotic metabolic and bariatric surgery here in New Hampshire.

At first I felt a bit overwhelmed, I felt the surgeon knew what his plan and surgical approach would be but I felt a bit "lost" while he discussed his plan, etc He had the permits written out and signed by him then had me sign. I did not feel I had enough time to digest the surgery, ... When I got home I decided to contact him through patient portal ... and his response was quick, direct and he made me feel better about the upcoming surgery
