• I think I was satisfied with the service. I've been going there for a long time. You know, I have a disgenerative disease. There is not too much they can do. She tried to explain the best to me and what to expect. Okay. Give me some hope. Okay? That's all I have to say.

Then, there was discussion of any changes along with their willingness to answer any questions.I had regarding my vision or current research.That is being done. • The first word that comes to mind when I think of Dr. Huckfeldt is amazing! She is extremely knowledgeable, caring, compassionate, sensitive to difficult conversations, empathetic; positive and genuinely believes in research currently being done. She is so optimistic of what the future of medicine holds for us with visual impairments and that means so much. To have a physician who is so dedicated speaks volumes of her character. I feel extremely confident placing my care in her hands. Side note- She met with me within 5-10 minutes of me arriving and once my testing was complete she again met with me 5-10 minutes later. This is almost unheard of in medicine but as I mentioned above, she is amazing!!! Mass Eye and Ear is very lucky to have her on board.

• Dr Huckfeldt confirmed my diagnosis of a genetic retinal disorder during this visit. She was thorough and thoughtful and provided information in a clear and concise manner. My two adult children accompanied me to this visit. My son may also have a vision issue related to my disorder. Dr.Huckfeldt included him in the discussion regarding the genetic factor and actually reviewed my sons record from his previous provider (by first obtaining his consent). I was very appreciative of her approach to both of us as she provided my son with valuable information moving forward, and as his mother, I want him to receive the best care and guidance possible. A genetics disorder is not just the individual but also about the family, and Dr Huckfeldt definitely supported that idea during this visit.
