Dr. Nicole Katz is a sports medicine physiatrist who specializes in the non-surgical management and treatment of sports and musculoskeletal injuries. She evaluates and treats a broad range of sports-related conditions, with a special clinical interest in dancers and female athletes and patients with the Female Athlete Triad/Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (REDs). She enjoys partnering with patients and their broader care team—including physical therapists, orthopedists, athletic trainers, and coaches—to build individualized treatment plans that help athletes and active individuals return to the activities and achieve the goals that matter to them most.

Dr. Katz received her Bachelor of Science in Dance Science from Skidmore College and her medical degree from the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University. She completed her residency in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at Harvard Medical School/Spaulding Rehabilitation, where she served as Academic Chief Resident, followed by a Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship at Harvard Medical School/Spaulding Rehabilitation.

Dr. Katz is a member of the Women's Sports Medicine Program and the Dance and Performing Arts Medicine Program at Mass General Brigham. She has served as a team physician for multiple collegiate sports teams and currently is Head Team Physician for Suffolk University Women's Ice Hockey, Network Physician for Boston Ballet, Founder and Director of the Dancer Health Program at Harvard University, Medical Director for the New Balance Beantown Elite Experience, and a physician for the Philadelphia Phillies Phantasy Baseball Camp.

As a clinician-scientist, her research examines the intersection of sex hormones, female athlete health, and musculoskeletal disease, with a focus on knee osteoarthritis. Her clinical practice also includes diagnostic and interventional musculoskeletal ultrasound and regenerative medicine, including platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections. Her work has been recognized with numerous awards, including the NCAA Research Award, the American Society for Medical Shockwave Therapy Young Investigator Award, and the Foundation for PM&R Materson ERF New Investigator Research Grant.
