Raymond Yan-Kit Kwong, MD, MPH

Dr. Raymond Y. Kwong is the director of Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH). A cardiovascular medicine specialist, he is also a professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School (HMS).

Dr. Kwong received his medical degree from University of Toronto Faculty of Medicine. He completed a residency in internal medicine at Vancouver General Hospital and a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at The George Washington University Hospital. He then completed a cardiac MRI fellowship program at the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institutes of Health. Dr. Kwong is board certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease.

He has authored over 290 peer-reviewed publications. His clinical interests and research focus on cardiac imaging, specifically the use of cardiac MRI to assess ventricular remodeling after acute myocardial infarction. He has received multiple grants from the National Institutes of Health, American Heart Association, Canadian Institute of Health Research, and the Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance for his research.
