Jennifer Lindsey, MD, MBA, is the Director of the Harvard Ophthalmology Residency Program and Vice Chair for Education at Harvard Ophthalmology and Associate Chief for Ophthalmic Education at Mass General Brigham.
Dr. Lindsey graduated cum laude with a BA in Biochemistry from Rice University and earned her MD at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. A graduate of the Baylor Cullen Eye Institute Residency Program in Ophthalmology, Dr. Lindsey served as a consultant and surgical educator for Cullen before entering private practice and providing comprehensive ophthalmological care to rural patients in Wyoming. She subsequently joined the faculty at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and served as Associate Chief of Ophthalmology at VA Tennessee Valley and Residency Program Director for Ophthalmology for Vanderbilt. In 2024, she earned her Executive MBA from the Vanderbilt Owen School of Business.
Dr. Lindsey is a member of the Comprehensive Ophthalmology and Cataract Consultation Service at Mass General Brigham and maintains a part-time appointment with the Veterans Affairs hospital system.
An active national leader in Veterans issues and Graduate Medical Education (GME), she is a past president of the Association of Veterans Affairs Ophthalmologists (AVAO) and serves as the Associate Secretary of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) Secretariat for State Affairs. She is the Past-President of the Association of University Professors of Ophthalmology (AUPO) Program Directors Council and serves on several AUPO committees and working groups. She is the 2025 recipient of the AAO/AUPO Straatsma Award for Excellence in Resident Education and the Women in Ophthalmology Outstanding Educator Award. Her research interests include innovations and best practices in GME, outcomes of resident-performed procedures and surgery, and socioeconomic aspects of healthcare.

Dr Lindsey and her male assistant were excellent. I wouldn't have wanted better care. Any questions I had were answered, I left with a full understanding of what was going on with my eyes.
