Dr. Robin Lindsay is an internationally recognized facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon specializing in cosmetic and functional rhinoplasty, nasal airway surgery, and facial rejuvenation. Her practice combines a sophisticated understanding of facial aesthetics with evidence-based surgical techniques and a highly individualized approach to helping patients achieve natural, balanced results.
A recognized authority in rhinoplasty, Dr. Lindsay serves on the Board of the International Evidence Based Rhinoplasty Group and has served as a judge for World Rhinoplasty Day. She is a frequent invited speaker nationally and internationally on rhinoplasty, nasal obstruction, facial plastic surgery, and patient outcomes. Her academic work has helped advance the understanding of both the functional and aesthetic outcomes of nasal surgery.
A leader in evidence-based facial plastic surgery, Dr. Lindsay has developed a dedicated clinical research program examining patient-reported and objective outcomes to continually improve care for patients with nasal obstruction, aesthetic concerns of the nose, and facial changes associated with aging. She has authored nearly 100 peer-reviewed publications and scholarly works. She is the author of chapters on functional rhinoplasty in Cummings Otolaryngology and Bailey’s Head and Neck Surgery–Otolaryngology, for which she also served as co-editor of the facial plastic surgery section. She has also served as guest editor for the “Challenges in Rhinoplasty” issue of Facial Plastic Surgery and the “Nasal Valve” issue of Otolaryngologic Clinics of North America.
Dr. Lindsay is Editor-in-Chief of ENTtoday, the most widely read publication in otolaryngology in the United States, and serves on the editorial board of Facial Plastic Surgery & Aesthetic Medicine. She previously served as Associate Editor for Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery for The Laryngoscope.
Her national leadership roles include serving as a CPT Advisor for the American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery, Senior Oral Board Examiner and Exam Council Member for the American Board of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery, and Chair of the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Committee for the American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery. She has also served on multiple committees of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and as a reviewer for numerous scientific journals.
Dr. Lindsay graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Virginia and continued her education at the University of Virginia School of Medicine as a member of the Health Professional Scholars Program. She subsequently served for 12 years as an active-duty officer in the United States Navy. During her military career, she worked as a general medical officer in Okinawa, Japan, completed residency training in otolaryngology–head and neck surgery, and later held leadership positions as Associate Residency Program Director and Assistant Department Head while practicing as an attending surgeon and pursuing clinical and research interests in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery.
She completed fellowship training in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery at Mass Eye and Ear. During her fellowship, she received the Anderson Prize from the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery for achieving the highest score on the 2009 board examination and the Sir Harold Delf Gillies Award from the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery for the best fellow research paper.
Beyond her clinical and academic work, Dr. Lindsay has held significant leadership roles advancing faculty development and professional equity. At Harvard Medical School, she has served as Faculty Chair of the Joint Committee on the Status of Women, Faculty Chair of its Professional Equity Subcommittee, and Chair of its Strategic Planning Committee. She was also honored with the JCSW Faculty Recognition Award. Dr. Lindsay has additionally chaired the Women in Otolaryngology Research and Survey Committee for the American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery.
Throughout her career, Dr. Lindsay has remained committed to providing thoughtful, individualized care that integrates facial aesthetics, nasal function, and the best available scientific evidence. This place is the best practice I've found in any discipline.
