Dr. Ly is second to none. Of course his expertise is without question, but his humanity and desire to really get to know his patient, makes what could be a terrifying experience, much more comfortable.

I was confused, disturbed, by some of his remarks and conclusions re my medical history, yet my flustered attempts to speak to his conclusions were neatly countered and with warm gracious well-wishes, our appointment ended. I am awed and grateful at your inquiry. And I am forever deeply thankful to this gifted surgeon who has saved my life. I'm sorry, embarrassed even, to have left our appointment so upset. And I am so grateful to all the doctor's assistants for their exceptional help and care.

Dr. Thuan Vinh Ly is a very gifted and caring physician. I arrived at Massachusetts General Hospital with a severe, traumatic injury - a fractured tibia, and now, less than 8 months later, my life has returned to normal and I have no pain. I am eternally grateful to Dr. Ly for his genius and his humanity.

Dr Ly is a brilliant surgeon. I had a very complicated operation to repair my broken patella which he elegantly accomplished with two screws and a wire.

I feel so fortunate to have been cared for by Dr. Ly and his team. Over the past two years the care and feedback I received has been top notch, from emergency care initially to routine check in and follow up.

Hi, so I thought the provider, Dr. Lee, was very nice, very knowledgeable, very capable. Everyone in his office was incredibly nice and compassionate, and that spoke wonderfully of him. I was very troubled, though, by the way he treated the female anesthesiologist and me regarding both of our wishes for me not to have general anesthesia. And I felt a little that he steamrolled us and that he was nicer to the male anesthesiologist and that troubled me. Now again, I've never worked with any of these people before, so you know that's by one-time observation, but I find it very upsetting and disrespectful.

Regarding ancillary services (XRay), I was surprised when the radiology tech said I should have worn a T-shirt for my exam (to avoid artifacts from shirt buttons). While clearly desirable, this would be quite challenging and painful, given the history of recent clavicular fracture. My guess is that the technologist has never had a fractured clavicle. I do expect to wear a T-shirt for subsequent F/U, after further healing.
