• I highly recommend Dr. Christopher Melnic for hip and knee orthopedic needs. He is truly an exceptional surgeon. He successfully performed a left hip replacement, a right knee replacement, and a hip revision to a hip of 20+ years. He also monitors my left knee replacement of 16 years. From the initial consultations to the final post-operative visits, his brilliant clinical expertise, precise surgical skill, and professional bedside manner were outstanding. We did not know the maker of my previous knee replacement, so Dr. Melnic asked the vendor to bring all makers from that year. I had a nerve block before the surgery, and did not have any pain for 30 hours afterwards. It was the best surgical experience I've ever had.

• As always, my experience with Dr. Melnic was positive in every way. He prescribed a cortizon injection that we initially thought I would have to schedule and return for. However, his staff asked radiology if they had any room to see me that day for the injection. I had to wait for 3 hours for open time in radiology, but received the injection that day and was so relieved that I was on my way to experiencing relief from the pain I had been in for 2 months. Having a provider take the extra steps to see if this could happen was very greatly appreciated.

Will muscles be cut or will instruments glide between the muscles ? Will the new hip be ceramic or titanium or some combination of materials? I realize that maybe some patients don't want to know the details, but I would have liked more details about what is actually going to happen during surgery.
