David Miyamoto, MD, PhD is an Associate Professor of Radiation Oncology at Harvard Medical School and the Mass General Brigham Cancer Institute. Dr. Miyamoto received his AB in Chemistry from Harvard College, his MD from Harvard Medical School, and his PhD in Cell and Developmental Biology from Harvard University. He completed his internship in Internal Medicine at the Brigham & Women's Hospital and his residency in the Harvard Radiation Oncology Program. Dr. Miyamoto is a board-certified radiation oncologist specializing in genitourinary malignancies who sees patients in the Bertucci Center for Genitourinary Cancers and the Department of Radiation Oncology at the Mass General Brigham Cancer Institute. As a physician scientist, he leads a translational research laboratory in the Krantz Family Center for Cancer Research that focuses on the development of novel biomarkers to guide bladder and prostate cancer therapy and improve the individualized care of each patient. He serves as Vice Chair of the NRG Oncology Translational Science Committee, which oversees the incorporation of translational studies into national cooperative group clinical trials. He has authored more than 70 publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals including Science, Cell, Cancer Discovery, and Lancet Oncology. His research efforts have been supported by grants from the National Cancer Institute, the U.S. Department of Defense, the Prostate Cancer Foundation, and the Radiation Oncology Institute.

Yes, Dr. Miyamoto, in my opinion, is one of the finest, if not the finest, doctor I could have for my radiation oncology. He explains things very clearly. He is obviously a very caring individual and I am convinced that he may have very well saved my life. So I can't say, you know, he is so good. I can't say anything that really meets how wonderful he is and how great the experience was. I hope you never lose him. He is just a tremendous doctor in all regards.
