Dr. Kristin Madenci is a trauma and surgical critical care surgeon at Brigham and Women's Hospital and Assistant Professor of Surgery at Harvard Medical School. Her leadership responsibilities reflect a strong focus on medical education and program development.
Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Madenci's scholarly interests center on global surgery, health systems strengthening, and equity in surgical care and training. Early in her career she contributed to global surgery policy work with the WHO and Harvard's Program in Global Surgery and Social Change. More recently, her research has turned toward domestic issues in trauma and acute care surgery — including patient navigation after trauma, outcomes in emergency general surgery, and gender and promotion disparities in academic surgery.
