Mari Mino-Kenudson, MD

Dr. Mino-Kenudson is board-certified in anatomic pathology and has diagnostic expertise in diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, liver, pancreas, biliary tract, lung, pleura, and mediastinum. She is an expert in the diagnosis and subtyping of lung cancer and a recognized leader in biomarker assessment for targeted and immunotherapies. Her clinical and translational research has contributed significantly to improving treatment decision-making for patients with lung cancer.

Dr. Mino-Kenudson and her team have demonstrated the clinical utility of testing for molecularly defined non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), including ALK and ROS1 fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) and ALK immunohistochemistry. These approaches have facilitated the identification of patients with actionable gene rearrangements and appropriate targeted therapies. She has also played a pivotal role in numerous studies investigating mechanisms of resistance to EGFR, ALK, ROS1, and RET tyrosine kinase inhibitors, among others. More recently, she and her collaborators have identified and characterized biomarkers associated with immune checkpoint blockade and novel monoclonal antibody therapies in NSCLC. She also has extensive expertise in malignant and premalignant lesions of the pancreas, particularly intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms (IPMNs).

A highly respected educator and mentor in anatomic pathology, Dr. Mino-Kenudson has mentored numerous trainees, three of whom have received either the Vogel Award from the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology or the Roddy MacSween Prize from Histopathology, prestigious honors recognizing promising trainees.
