• Dr. Mallery had a long wait to see him but he was thorough and knowledgeable and professional. I'd never seen ophthalmologist before and felt very well cared for in the appointment.

On the other hand, there was nothing preventing me, an inquisitive and education-seeking type, from studying up on basic ophthalmological information ahead of time in order to make the best use of the appointment; I didn't even think of doing that. • During this particular visit with Dr. Mallery, my experience was average. I would say it was possibly better than several other appointments. I felt that in one appointment, he was actually a little agitated that I had been referred to his office and he was unable to assess me significantly at that time. He seems to know how to read the medical reports and the MRIs but his bedside manners are lacking and several times while I was asking questions he has cut me off and and told me to come back in 6 months.

• I have been a patient of Dr. Mallery for nearly three and one-half years. He was one of the first doctors to examine me when I was admitted to BWH with, at that time, a still to be diagnosed neurological disease. Since my diagnosis he has been a constant presence in addressing my condition. I have found him to be a first-rate doctor who has never rushed appointments, always explained things clearly and generally an appointment I always look forward to having. His understanding of my disease and guidance provided has been invaluable and I cannot be more thankful for the good fortune in having him as my doctor.
