• Dr. Merkin was very friendly and made me feel comfortable and also confident in his expertise. He followed up with other doctors as he said he would. He listened and was understanding as to why I would travel all the way to Mass General for treatment. He was also understanding and considerate about the distance traveled and scheduled follow-ups with two doctors on the same day.

• Dr. Merkin made me feel comfortable from the moment he entered the room due to his manner of greeting me and my family members. He showed a genuine concern over my particular problem and clearly outlined a plan that he would undertake in order to remediate my cancer. He reminded me that I was the boss, and it was my decision and not anyone else's of how to proceed with my care. Based on what he outlined for me And correlating with the questions that I had formulated prior to seeing him, I determined that he was the best doctor to be in charge of my treatment program. Just the fact that he initially was ready to consult with other physicians within the hospital to gather more information about the relationship Between the particular therapy that was going to be used and my MS convinced me that he was the person I wanted to be with.
