Dr. MingMing Ning is Associate Professor and Director of the Cardio-Neurology Clinic at MGH. She is a board-certified vascular neurologist employing a wide range of innovations from clinical omics/mass spectrometry to digital technology with music for stroke patients. Her pioneering work in PFO has opened a new field to monitor brain-heart communication through blood.

Dr Ning collaborates widely and has co-authored more than 150 publications, participated in more than 100 clinical trials, received multiple innovation awards from the American Heart Association, American Academy of Neurology, American Federation for Medical Research and Howard Hughes Medical Institute. She has been named among America’s Top Physicians and has helped many other academic centers set up multi-disciplinary care modeled on the MGH Cardio-Neurology Clinic. As Director of the Clinical Proteomics Research Center, her NIH sponsored research uses state of the art mass spectrometry technology to explore various neurological diseases and therapeutic interventions directly at bedside to individualize treatment for stroke related to the heart.

In addition to patient care, research and teaching, Dr Ning has served on various boards and committees including: President of the American Federation for Medical Research following Dr Anthony Fauci; FASEB Board, MGH Structural Heart Disease/PFO, ECMO, and Stroke Prevention in Atrial Fibrillation, and Harvard Medical School MPCTI Admission Committees. She is co-founder of the Brain/Heart-Music/Art Initiative to improve brain and heart health in the young, healthy aging, and those with vascular risk and cognitively impairment. Dr. Ning also serves as associate editor and editorial board member for various journals including BMJ/JIM, on various NIH/NINDS scientific review panels, and as co-chair of the OMICs section of the NIH/NINDS Stroke Progress Review Group.
