  • I thought that Dr. Oaklander was extremely helpful and I thought she was an incredibly good doctor. She spent a great deal of time with me, went over everything that I needed to discuss with her. She was extremely knowledgeable and I would highly, highly recommend Dr. Oaklander to any patient. Thank you.

    2026-06-07

  • My first meeting with Dr. Oaklander was terrific. She greeted me when I arrived and then proceeded to ask many questions about my nerve pain and prior medical symptoms. She is the first medical doctor I have met with since my surgery in [redacted] who thoroughly understands the nerve pain I have had since then. She has ordered two MRI tests to look at my spine and neck. I left her office feeling hopeful for the first time in years. I have another appointment with her in a few months.

  • She us the best Doctor I have ever seen

    2026-04-30

  • Dr Oaklander is, without question, the best physician I have ever visited with. She was extremely well prepared for my visit and had an excellent understanding of my complex medical history. She was inquisitive about my diagnosis and had a deep desire to find answers for me. She was empathetic and understanding. she was willing to collaborate with other physicians in my care team and serve as a patient advocate. Dr. Oaklander went above and beyond to help me and I'm so grateful to have her as part of my care team. She is truly a blessing to her patients and Mass Gen Hospital.

  • This might be redundant to my answers, but I just wanted to say that I really appreciated the doctor's attention, kind personality, compassionate demeanor, knowledge, and making me feel like a human.

    2026-03-25

  • Dr. Oaklander is the best provider I've ever seen, hands-down. She treats her work as a researcher or detective, and she's not satisfied with "don't know." Her medical curiosity and brilliance is second to none.

    2026-03-22

  • Dr. Oaklander is exceptional. She is the most knowledgeable physician regarding small fiber neuropathy and the comorbidities of POTS and dysautonomia. She is a careful listener and shows a willingness to always be there for her patients. I am grateful for her care.

    2026-03-18

  • Dr Oaklander is brilliant, compassionate and an excellent excellent doctor. She has the courage to say the difficult things that I needed to hear and truly cares so much. I cannot say enough excellent things about Dr Oaklander. I am eternally grateful for her brilliance and her support.

    2026-02-15

  • Dr. Oaklander is phenomenal. She had gone over my file before my appointment, so she had a good understanding of my medical history before we even entered the exam room. She did not rush me in anyway and did not hurry through the exam, which I very much appreciated. She's super smart and very observant, pointing out an area of muscle wasting that no other physician had noticed in the past. I really appreciated that she talked to me peer-to-peer (even though I'm not a peer!) as opposed to talking down to me. I hugely appreciated that, actually. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone who needs a neurologist, and in fact already have!

    2026-01-29

  • Dr. Oaklander is exceptional. She examined me with great care, thoroughly reviewed all of my medical documentation, and asked insightful and highly relevant questions about my health history and symptoms. Her neurological report is very detailed and clearly reflects her outstanding expertise, experience, and dedication to patient care. I was especially impressed by her clear, logical, and educational approach to clinical reasoning, which I found both reassuring and empowering as a patient. I genuinely feel very fortunate to have been evaluated by Dr. Oaklander.

    2026-01-28

  • Dr. Oaklander was excellent! Taking the time to research my medical history and advocating for the best path forward for me.

    2026-01-25

  • Dr. Oaklander was very professional and told me everything she was doing during my appointment.

    2026-01-11

  • My experience with Dr. Oaklander was extremely positive. I had researched who I wanted to see for my problem and her name came up as an expert in that area and I made an appointment with her, though she was having difficulties scheduling because of an impending orthopedic operation. But she fit me in and it was well worth the two-hour drive from Western Massachusetts to come in and see her on the Monday before New Year's Eve. So I have nothing but good things to say about my experience with her.

    2026-01-05

  • Procedure was performed with skill and efficiency.

    2025-12-24

  • I felt she cared about my circumstances and talked about future appointments. [redacted]

    2025-12-07

  • Dr. Oaklander took my concerns about chronic longstanding foot pain seriously and moved forward with additional MRI testing and will be in contact with my appt with MGH foot doctor toward end of December. Her follow through is exceptional.

    2025-11-25

  • Dr. Oaklander seemed great in her field, in terms of her level of expertise, experience, and skill in explaining things - however she consistently misgendered me (used the wrong pronouns) when discussing my childhood, and questioned a diagnosis that was neither the reason I was there nor related to her area of expertise. I found both of those things very distressing, uncomfortable, and disheartening.

  • This provider is a true expert and leader in her speciality and is also able to provide valuable direction to me based on my particular symptoms. The care provided by this doctor is the most impactful care that I have received. While I see multiple doctors for my complex care, this provider stands out as she reviews my progress across specialities, in detail, and always provides directive assessments. I rely on her notes to determine my next steps for care. (I print them out so that I can stay on track as I make progress.) It is apparent that she aims to make a difference in my overall health. She sees me in follow-up appts and tracks my progress. This is a differentiator in my patient experience, as I often receive expert care, in a visit and tests from specialists, but not in the context of my overall condition. She also contacts my other specialists to relay her findings and to suggest care that would benefit me. I realize how fortunate I am to have this level of comprehensive care from this doctor. She also has the expertise and stature in the industry to work with international experts that I have seen while at J. Hopkins. She incorporates her perspective of their data and clinical assessments into her directive care for me. While I strive to approach my medical care in professional way and without emotion, I can't help but see that this provider cares about me. It makes me feel so positive and gives me the energy to push forward with pursuing my multiple speciality care. This doctor stands out against all the care that I have received in my lifetime. Thank you to this doctor and to HMG.

  • She really listens. Not all providers do that. She sees the whole picture. She is reassuring.

    2025-10-19

  • Dr. Oaklander is a very caring and brilliant physician who advocates for her patients. I am very grateful that she is my doctor.

    2025-09-06

  • Dr Oaklander is wonderful. Kind, caring, compassionate and knowledgeable. I have had skin biopsies previously and they hurt during and after the procedure. I was impressed that I didnt feel pain during or after. I was very impressed with the manner in which she spoke to an explained the procedure to her assistant. She explained the procedure pointing out how my skin puckered. The relevance of this I do not know, but it was awesome how she explained and pointed out details I felt heard. I felt cared for and I felt important.

    2025-08-27

  • Dr. Oaklander was fantastic. I was very happy that I traveled there for the appointment. She was very thorough. I am not entirely sure what the plan will be following up with her given that I live at a distance, but I was very happy with the care. [redacted]

    2025-08-27

  • Dr. Oaklander has been my longest-standing care provider, and I believe I'm one of her longest-standing patients. We have had a consistently positive relationship over the almost 30 years of working together. She is one of the doctors I call a detective doctor, always listening to all of the data that I have to provide and my information, and then giving her information and thoughts based off of that data. I am always going to recommend her and will always hope to be under her care.
