• Dr Pineda is the absolute best! He is a world renowned specialist in corneal disease and surgical technique and I am very honored to have been accepted as a patient, knowing that there are many other well qualified ophthalmologists at MEEI. I have grown to manage my expectations about appointments, however. Because he so highly regarded, his schedule often gets interrupted by emergency consults, or other diversions with Fellows or patient issues. No matter how far behind his day has gone, as far as seeing his patients, he never has spent less time with me, or tried to rush our appointment in order to see the next patient. He is a very caring and personable physician but he is run ragged by the MGBH and MEEI systems. It was a pleasure this last visit to see Dr Pineda running pretty much on schedule. I think part of this is that he has a new assistant managing his day and schedule much better, but also running interference for him. I know having this level of support will help Dr Pineda in ways that can't be put into words. Although he never has complained and never spends less time that needed with patients, I'm pretty sure he feels the same.
