• Hi, I had an excellent experience with Dr. Paganoni and the other members of the staff at Mass General for my visit last week. I felt very informed and am very confident in moving my care to Mass General ALS Clinic for further treatment and evaluation of my case. I was extremely comfortable and very satisfied with my first visit at the hospital.

• Dr Paganoni introduced herself and then proceeded to take extreme care in gathering the threads of my early symptoms in order to weave together an accurate timeline of the onset of my disease. My local neurologist did a thorough job of ordering all the tests needed to give him a diagnosis and wrote unspecified motor neuron disease. I did not realize that translated to ALS. Dr Paganoni order more tests for a second visit to MGB to verify those results. [redacted] That confusion was cleared up on my second visit with Dr Paganoni just a week after my first appointment when she was relaying information about the disease and I asked "Do I have ALS"?" I'm sure she was unaware of my naivety on the subject. She was extremely kind in her response and said I was in the early stages of this disease. She had arranged for a team to see me that day. I met with a nurse, respiratory specialist and physical therapist. There's an old comic strip about a student raising his hand in class and saying, " My brain is full, may I be excused please?" I instantly thought of that as I was given new information about new prescriptions and B12 shots being ordered for me, physical therapy being arranged, brace fittings and a ton of information about community outreach and clinical research and patient opportunities. I initially was overwhelmed, exhausted from the travel and willing my stomach and nerves to calm down. And after a beat I realized Dr Paganoni knows that when a patient is back in their own environment that she has provided them a perfect road map. I have a clear and immediate plan that was made for me. I am ticking those boxes one by one and know what I need to do for the immediate future. I am just at the beginning of this process and I am extremely grateful that I was referred to Dr Paganoni and her team to guide me down the long road.

• Dr Paganoni is a wonderful, committed person who is extremely experienced in ALS. Despite being engaged in so many aspects of the disease she always makes the appointment thorough and never fails to give her total attention to you.

• Dr. Paganoni was knowledgeable, kind, thorough and compassionate. I felt heard and cared for. Even though I was seen at the clinic for a second opinion and not as a longterm patient, I was treated as though I were a longterm patient and left feeling comfortable with reaching out for follow-up guidance. If I lived closer, I would opt to receive all of my care here. But with the MGB team working with my neurologist in Worcester, I feel like I will get the care I need.
