Dr. Paganoni is a physician-scientist at the Sean M. Healey & AMG Center for ALS at Mass General Brigham, where she serves as the Robert H. Brown, Jr., MD, PhD Endowed Chair in Neurology and Co-Director of the Neurological Clinical Research Institute. She is also an Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School. She specializes in neuromuscular medicine and cares for people living with ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), primary lateral sclerosis (PLS), and other motor neuron diseases. Dr. Paganoni completed medical school at the University of Milan, earned a PhD in Neuroscience from Northwestern University, and completed her residency and fellowship training at Mass General Brigham/Harvard Medical School. Her research focuses on developing new treatments for ALS by leading innovative clinical trials and expanding access to clinical research opportunities. She is also committed to advancing patient care through the development of new assistive technologies and innovative models of care for people living with ALS and related conditions.

Dr. Paganoni was knowledgeable, kind, thorough and compassionate. I felt heard and cared for. Even though I was seen at the clinic for a second opinion and not as a longterm patient, I was treated as though I were a longterm patient and left feeling comfortable with reaching out for follow-up guidance. If I lived closer, I would opt to receive all of my care here. But with the MGB team working with my neurologist in Worcester, I feel like I will get the care I need.

Very knowledgeable and professional about ALS. As a first time patient with ALS it can be very challenging to understand everything about what the total picture is.
