• Im happy with the provider's procedure even though it was not what I requested. What I'm not happy about is that the provider did not tell me the different methods of removing hemorrhoids. He just recommended medication and better nutrition which I already tried. It was only after I mentioned the various techniques (surgery, banding, sclerotherapy, infrared coagulation) and I insisted to try one of them that he finally agreed on banding. So this whole "fighting" to have some practical procedure done is that I didn't enjoy. I think that the provider should have been more open about these procedures and mention and explain all of them instead of shying away from them and only recommending a better diet and meds (which I already tried as I mentioned). Nevertheless, I'm overall satisfied for now. However I'm still not sure that the hemorrhoids will be gone. Yes the doctor mentioned that surgery will be very painful. But I said I'm aware of it and I'm perfectly fine with it no matter how painful. I'd prefer a few weeks of intense pain instead of a lifetime of discomfort and meds.

My PCP had forwarded to him a large volume of test results that were completed following the removal of my appendix and they only arrived at his office a day before meeting with me. I was worried meeting with a surgeon that I was going to be pushed into surgery without alternative considerations but Dr. Ricciardi made it clear that he would not operate on me unless he determines it necessary. It is probably necessary at this point and he is the doctor I want running point on my care.

• He is the BEST! I saw 2 other surgeons prior to Dr Ricciardi, The other surgeons did not seem to have the same knowledge and confidence as DR Ricciardi. Also Dr Ricciardi was the best explainer about what type of surgery I should have and everything involved about it including the follow up ect, I was so happy and relieved after meeting Dr Ricciardi because I finally got all my questions answered clearly and can now plan for the future. I am so Thankful Dr Ricciardi took me as a patient.
