Dr. Daphna Spiegel is a board-certified radiation oncologist who specializes in the treatment of breast cancer. She is committed to providing personalized, compassionate care through a multidisciplinary approach, partnering closely with colleagues across specialties to develop individualized treatment plans that reflect each patient's diagnosis, goals, and values.
Dr. Spiegel began her academic career at Boston University before earning a Master of Science degree from Georgetown University. She received her medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine, completed her internship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and went on to complete her residency in Radiation Oncology at Duke University, where she served as Chief Resident.
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Spiegel is an accomplished clinical investigator and national leader in breast cancer research. She serves as the principal investigator for an investigator-initiated clinical trial and has received multiple competitive research awards, including funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Her research focuses on developing strategies to minimize the short- and long-term side effects of radiation therapy while maintaining excellent cancer outcomes, with the goal of improving survivorship and quality of life for patients with breast cancer.
Dr. Spiegel has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and is actively involved in shaping the future of breast cancer care through national leadership and service. She serves in leadership roles within the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO), contributes to the development of national educational programming, and is committed to advancing evidence-based, patient-centered care through research, education, and collaboration.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Spiegel enjoys spending time with her husband, their three children, and their dog. In her free time, she enjoys playing Mahjong, baking, crafting, and reading.
