• Dr. Shen is an outstanding doctor. She has been my glaucoma doctor for many years. She has gotten to know me and knows how to present information to me. I admire her knowledge and expertise and am grateful to have her as my doctor. I enjoy seeing her with her fellows and juniors, training them. I am 100% delighted with her.

• Dr. Shen is superb, the reason I travel from SC for an annual appointment with her. I remembered she had said she'd order a new test for my visit this year, and when I told her I thought I'd been given the usual test, not a different one she'd ordered, she assured me I remembered correctly and had no idea why her order for a different test wasn't honored. I feel she's in sync with that I need in an eye doctor.

• My provider was on time if not a little early. She was was pleasant when she entered and asked how I was doing. She listened and questioned a few things I said. She went through the eye drop I am on and using information the techs and doctor assisting her had gathered beforehand decided to adjust the eye drops. She explained her reasoning and made sure I understood. She also typed the instructions out and printed me out a copy.

• It would be helpful for the provider on the day of the procedure to again review the plan for the procedure and how the procedure works. This was not reviewed at the time of the initial scheduling of the procedure. Perhaps this was because this was a repeat procedure for me, but a refresher by way of information would have been helpful. I suspect if I had asked for this review, then it would have been provided. But this is a mere suggestion, not a specific critique.
