Dr. Lindsay Tetreault is a neurologist who specializes in neuromuscular disorders and spinal cord disease. Her clinical practice focuses on the evaluation and management of complex neurological conditions affecting the spinal cord, peripheral nerves, neuromuscular junction, and muscles. She also has expertise in electrodiagnostic medicine and can perform and interpret nerve conduction studies and electromyography.
Dr. Tetreault has a strong clinical and research interest in degenerative cervical myelopathy (DCM). She has been instrumental in developing clinical practice guidelines for both DCM and traumatic spinal cord injury as well as establishing diagnostic criteria for DCM. She prioritizes achieving a timely and accurate diagnosis for patients with suspected spinal cord compression and works closely with spine surgeons to distinguish degenerative spinal cord disease from neurological conditions that can mimic myelopathy. When multiple conditions may be contributing to a patient’s symptoms, she focuses on clarifying their relative contributions in order to guide the most appropriate treatment plan.
For patients with myelopathy who select a non-surgical approach, Dr. Tetreault emphasizes close clinical monitoring to detect any changes in neurological function and ensure that management strategies remain aligned with the patient’s evolving condition.
As a neuromuscular specialist, she diagnoses and manages a wide range of conditions including peripheral neuropathies, radiculopathies, motor neuron disease, muscle disease, and disorders of the neuromuscular junction. She works collaboratively with patients to understand their goals for care and to develop individualized treatment plans, carefully balancing the potential benefits of medications and other therapies with their possible side effects.
Dr. Tetreault is committed to providing thoughtful, patient-centered care while working in close collaboration with multidisciplinary colleagues to achieve the best possible outcomes.
