• I sought care at MGH for a second opinion regarding surgical planning following a recent breast cancer diagnosis. From my very first interaction, the entire experience felt coordinated, transparent, and humane. Every step of the process was clearly explained - not just what was happening, but why. Imaging was reviewed thoroughly, the purpose and implications of each study were discussed in detail, and surgical recommendations were grounded explicitly in disease extent and expected outcomes. All three physicians I met with were exceptional. They were clinically rigorous, unhurried, and willing to answer every question thoughtfully. I never felt rushed, dismissed, or like a burden for needing clarification. I felt treated as a whole person navigating a serious diagnosis, not just a case on a schedule. Communication was timely and direct. I knew what the next step was at every point. The team functioned cohesively, and it was evident that my case had been carefully reviewed before recommendations were made. Most importantly, I felt confident in the care plan. That confidence made an enormous difference during an otherwise destabilizing time. I am deeply grateful for the professionalism, compassion, and clarity provided by this team.
