I have been on clinical staff at Massachusetts General Hospital, specializing in Gastrointestinal Malignancies since 2010. I received a Bachelor of Arts in both Biology and Business Economics in 2001 at Brown University, graduating with Honors with Distinction, and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. Subsequently, I graduated from Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons, where I received the Glasgow-Rubin Achievement Award, which is awarded to the top 10% of the class, and was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha. I completed my preliminary medicine internship at Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge, MA, and my radiation oncology residency in the Harvard Radiation Oncology Program. In my last year, I was elected as Co-Chief Resident of the Harvard Radiation Oncology Program.

I was promoted to Associate Professor in June 2019 at the Department of Radiation Oncology at Massachusetts General Hospital. From 2011 to 2015, I served as an Associate Senior Editor of the Gastrointestinal Section for the International Journal of Radiation Oncology, Biology, and Physics, the highest impact journal of our field. My research has predominantly focused on assessing and improving outcomes and treatment related toxicities for gastrointestinal cancer. I have published the results of a prospective pilot study of definitive chemoradiation with pencil-beam scanning proton beam radiotherapy in combination with concurrent 5-FU/MMC for anal cancer.  Additionally, many of my publications have focused on evaluating the impact of radiation therapy treatment on acute and long-term toxicities, with a particular focus on female sexual health. I published a well-received peer-reviewed literature review of “The Impact of Radiotherapy on Fertility, Pregnancy, and Neonatal Outcomes of Female Cancer Patients.” Additionally, I have done work on assessing long term sexual health concerns and clinical needs in female patients who have received pelvic radiation therapy, including receiving the Patty Brisben Foundation Grant to aid in research funding. More recently, I am the National PI of NRG GI0012: A Phase III Randomized Trial of IO-Based Systemic Treatment +/- Liver SBRT in Hepatocellular Cancer with Macrovascular Invasion (HELIO-RT). The current study will evaluate the additional benefit of liver SBRT in combination with first line IO-based systemic therapy, including atezolizumab/bevacizumab, durvalumab/tremelimumab, or ipilumimab/nivolumab. To date, I have co-authored 150 peer-reviewed publications, including 20 first author publications and 36 last author publications.
