• I wish there was an option higher than 10 to rate Dr. Mark Weinfeld. He deserves 1,000,000 rating. He is the most exceptional physician I have ever met. [redacted] He probably saved my life over the late summer when I went to his office having felt some symptoms while exercising. [redacted] I walked into Dr. Weinfeld's office feeling perfectly fine. I wasn't looking to see any particular cardiologist. He just happened to have a cancellation - as it turns out it was one of the luckiest breaks of my life. After looking at my EKG, Dr. Weinfeld immediately put me in an ambulance and sent me to the MGH ER because he suspected a significant blockage of my left anterior descending. I thought he was just being overly cautious. How could I have CVD??? He was right, of course. [redacted] He came to see me twice over my multi-day stay, and I know was speaking with the team in the background during that time. This has been a terrifying and just psychologically devastating ordeal for me. Not just that it happened and that I then had to recover but also knowing I am at future risk. And knowing my whole life I have been dedicated to a very healthy lifestyle - I am the most diligent person I know!! - and yet I have CVD at a young age. Unfortunately, for Dr. Weinfeld, I am one of those squeaky-wheel patients. I have messaged him in Patient Gateway, uh, many times. :-) He is so kind and so gracious. He always responds with a message or a call. I have not had an easy recovery; he always takes the time to call me with test results and next steps, often well into the evening. He is the most meticulous, thorough, kind, attentive, diligent, brilliant, compassionate, patient, and skilled provider I have ever met. He magically makes you feel as if you are his only patient when, of course, he is providing all of his patients with the same level of care. I sometimes contemplate moving closer to my family [redacted] in the future. And I can tell you, quite honestly, not having close proximity to Dr. Weinfeld and MGH is the number one reason I don't want to go. Or if I did, I would just continue under his care, traveling here. I feel like I get the more personalized care of a small community medical center from one of the world's leading and busiest academic powerhouses. It is beyond incredible. If MGH/MGB gives awards of excellence to providers, I beg of you to please give one to Dr. Weinfeld. He is an amazing physician, a remarkable human being, and I truly believe he is the best of the best anywhere on this planet. Sincerely, [redacted]

He prepared a day ahead for my visit, went over everything in in my history and with my current status with a fine toothed comb, ordered blood work which I got immediately, referred me to another doctor, which happened immediately, called me the next day to go over my blood work, suggested a change in medication dosage, and called in future blood work. He remembered details I told him about specifics to my preference for minimal medications and applied all that my husband and I mentioned to the fine tuning of my care. I arrived to the appointment with high anxiety and returned home without an ounce of worry. We are set for future tears and appointments. No stone was left unturned. I am blessed to be Dr. Weinfeld's patient. He is the best( along with Dr. [redacted]). The finest physicians in the world.
