Dr. M was great. Most in my mind, though, is the help an RN I met in the lobby provided when I asked a question. She went out of her way to assist me get to where I needed to be.

I have received medical excellent care from Dr Wilk. He shows concern and makes great eye contact. I've been satisfied with his manner and his delivery is clear. My surgery provided by Dr Wilk has been a brilliant success. He completed a repair to my abductor tendon, which included a bursectomy and IT band lengthening. I'm still healing, because this is a marathon but I feel optimism and joy. On my last follow up with Dr Wilk I expressed my gratitude and praise for his work and care.

I did feel like I was rushed and thought I was prepared with questions. Dr Wilk did ask if I had questions but then he seemed to run out of patience with me. LOL most of my questions came after the visit.

Dr Wilk gave me back my life. A life-long athlete, I arrived at his office in extreme pain that prevented me from sleeping. I was limping badly, which affected my back, and I had tried everything to heal the hip abductor tendon tears that were causing all the trouble: 11 months of seeing physiatrists, steroid and PRP injections, PT, crutches, etc. I was essentially homebound except for medical appointments. Dr Wilk was one of only a couple docs in the Boston area that do the needed tendon repair surgery. Rehab was long and, because this seems to be a newer surgery that most PTs have not encountered, I struggled to know if I was progressing as I should -- particularly as he was on leave for a period of my rehab and covering docs could not provide any guidance on the new surgery. But 8 months later, I can say that I am sleeping well, back to living my life and continuing PT to make gains in strength and endurance to regain fitness activities. Dr Wilk is a skilled surgeon and a kind person. I am incredibly grateful to him!

This visit felt rushed, with limited to no explanation of findings and implications. Focus was on his specialty, not my injury. Did not make himself available for questions.

Dr. Wilk and his PA were very helpful in figuring out what was going on, reading the MRIs, looking at all the previous testing, asking questions about previous treatments, very thorough and very open to hear what I had to say and also coming to a conclusion that I get treatment in a manner which is best suited for this point.

So when I first met Dr. Wilk, I wasn't sure about him because he comes off very direct and I had a lot of trouble in this healthcare system. And it turns out he's like one of the best doctors that's ever happened to me. He really, every visit I had with him, I felt more and more comfortable and honestly more and more liked and cared for and not that that matters, but I mean the liked part, but the cared for definitely does. His bedside manner, fantastic. And if anyone needs a hip surgery or anything, I would recommend them to him. And truthfully, I'm really sad. I'm no longer in his care. I wish that he did other things. But my experience with him was so fantastic. And he deserves all the accolades and anything coming to him. So yeah, I have this message in my head.

I was referred to Dr. Richard Wilk due to an insurance change that required me to switch orthopedic surgeons. As devastated as I was to have to cancel my surgery and change orthos again, it was a blessing in disguise. Dr. Wilk and his team did extensive testing and assessing of my current condition and requested further testing to rule out an additional diagnosis that would require fixation alongside the original procedure. He was extremely thorough and his knowledge and experience with sports medicine is exceptional. He made sure I felt confident at the end of our visit & his PA made sure all of my questions were addressed after he exited the room. Very grateful for being placed in his care.

My visit to the hospital was very satisfactory, both during the X-ray and the consultation with Dr. Wilk. In every visit and consultation at Brigham and Women's Hospital, I have always been pleased with the care and the final results, not only with the outcomes but also with the attention of everyone who was always doing their best to ensure my stay and results were satisfactory. Thank you to the staff, nurses, and doctors who always treated me exceptionally well and resolved my medical issues. Thank you all. [redacted]

[redacted] I did not want surgery, I was looking for some thoughts and advice as I had a nagging knee issue. The Doctor made me feel like I was not worth his time, and it felt to me like he identified I wasn't a surgical candidate and wanted me out. I had been going to PT and had an issue, and was looking for guidance regarding the issue. The "stop doing that" and having to press for thoughts and input should have been given without making me feel like he had better things to do that day.

Dr. Wilk has been a great person to have in my corner guiding me through a difficult year with multiple 'bumps in the road' to fix my knee. He was always straight up with me and I always felt as though he had my best interest in mind to get back to 100% and playing sports.

During my time with both Dr. Wilk and a sports medicine professional [redacted], I felt like I was seen as a body to examine and not a person to be helped. They spoke to each other using incomprehensible medical terminology as if I were not there at all, did not address my chief complaint (which I had to bring up multiple times), and were fairly rough in their physical examinations. I would say both individuals could improve on their bedside manner. I have never felt so small and invisible in a medical setting and would be highly reluctant to work with either individual again.

Dr. Wilk, was clear about one plan of action during new patient visit after xray and physical exam. After switching to another orthopedic doctor for a second opinion, shortly thereafter Dr. Wilk had messaged with an entirely different plan from previously spoken in first and last, office visit.

Richard Wilk did not take one second to look at my chart before coming into an appointment that he was 45 minutes late for. The first thing he asked me was if I skied at loon mountain because of the loon sticker on my phone. He asked me if I bought my season pass yet to which I responded that I was going to but my MRI results revealed that my labrum is torn and you cannot ski with a torn labrum. He admitted he had not looked at anything in my chart before saying this. You would think that someone with as much experience as him would have a better idea of what not to say when a young person is at an orthopedic surgeon appointment. [redacted]

I felt somewhat dismissed and unheard. The provider may have been thinking I have a simple case, or maybe there are no clear answers (yet) but it isn't simple or clear to me. I'm still not sure what I should/not be doing in this interm phase (before an MRI)

Dr Wilk was great. He apologized for being late, which I don't hold against him-I assume he has little control over his scheduling. He was an excellent doctor who took my complaints seriously. I genuinely wasn't expecting much from an appointment where the extent of my symptoms were "knee pain at night." Dr Wilk is clearly an expert in the field and was able to identify the problem. He was also very helpful in teaching the PA in the room about a problem she hadn't come across yet.
