Prashant Yadav, MD

Dr. Yadav is the Director of the Ophthalmology Consult Service, and specializes in orbital surgery, lacrimal surgery, and ocular oncology, as well as ocular trauma. He joined Mass. Eye and Ear as an Ophthalmology Hospitalist in 2020. In this role, he provides consultations for patients admitted to Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital, and Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital. In addition to his clinical responsibilities, he trains and supervises ophthalmology residents and medical students in the Mass. Eye and Ear Emergency Department.

Dr. Yadav earned his medical degree in 2000 from the University of Pune, India. He went on to complete his ophthalmology residency at Mohan Eye Institute in 2006 and a three-year clinical fellowship in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery and ocular oncology at the Dr. R.P. Center for Ophthalmic Sciences, All India Institute of Medical Sciences in 2010. He served as Head of the Department of Ophthalmic Plastic Surgery at ICARE Eye Hospital, India through 2012. In 2013, Dr. Yadav completed another clinical fellowship in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery at Mass. Eye and Ear. Prior to joining us, Dr. Yadav was doing complex eyelid reconstructive surgery and ocular surface surgery at Wills Eye Hospital, Philadelphia. Dr. Yadav has worked extensively in community ophthalmology, emergency eye care, and eye trauma during his career.
