Massachusetts General Hospital, Blood Draw Lab
The Mass General Blood Draw Lab on the main campus serves Mass General Brigham (MGB) patients with an active MGB Epic order only; outside or non‑MGB provider orders are not accepted. Walk‑in service is available for most services, except glucose tolerance testing (GTT), which requires an appointment—call 617‑726‑3215, option 2. Hours are Monday–Thursday 6:00 a.m.–5:45 p.m. and Friday 6:00 a.m.–4:45 p.m. On weekdays, patients must check in at MGH, Wang Building, second floor, Room 221 (WACC221); on Saturdays, check‑in and service are on the fifth floor at WACC516. Blood collection is available for patients ages 16 and up only; urine and other non‑blood specimens (e.g., COVID, flu, MRSA swabs) are accepted for ages 13 and up. EKGs with an MGB Epic order are performed at WACC221 only—outside cardiology orders are not accepted. All orders must be in MGB Epic. EKG hours are Monday 8:00 a.m.–4:15 p.m., Tuesday–Thursday 8:00 a.m.–5:45 p.m., and Friday 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m., with no weekend or holiday service.
