Police and Security

The Mass General Brigham police and security team creates a safe, welcoming, and accessible environment at all our facilities and campuses. Patients, visitors, and staff can depend on us for professionalism and compassion in all situations. We take a proactive approach to security and policing—solving problems before they happen.

Tens of thousands of patients, visitors, and staff enter Mass General Brigham facilities every day. Our police and security teams ensure their safety, 24/7.

Our services include:

  • Community policing
  • Crime and violence prevention
  • Domestic violence assistance
  • Emergency and fire alarm response
  • Emergency medical assistance
  • Facility entry and access
  • Lost and found assistance
  • Police and security patrols
  • Safety escorts and wayfinding support

Mass General Brigham facilities employ security officers, special police officers, ambassadors, and/or parking staff. Security systems and technology specialists, investigators, and administrators work behind the scenes to support all operations.

Our teams use advanced tools and proven strategies to identify, mitigate, and prevent risk, including de-escalating aggressive behavior and conflict. We also adhere to the “see something, say something” approach.
