Data Science Pathway

Data Science Pathway learning

The Data Science Pathway (DSP) is an exclusive program for Mass General Brigham radiology residents to learn the fundamentals of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) in health care.

The pathway is an immersive educational experience that expands upon the ML foundational curriculum with live interactive “flipped-classroom” sessions, hands-on demonstrations, “on-your-own” exercises, and a journal club.

Note: Radiology fellows may do an abbreviated experience without a research project.

What does the Data Science Pathway curriculum consist of?

  • Introduction to the tools and techniques involved in developing, validating, and translating AI/ML into clinical practice

  • Data science research project in conjunction with a Mass General Brigham clinical champion

  • Exposure to industry collaboration and the full lifecycle of AI products and services, from concept to care integration, including product development procedures, regulatory processes, and ethics of machine learning
