Reconstructive Urology Program
The Reconstructive Urology Program at Mass General Brigham is led by surgeons with expertise in total and partial reconstruction of the urinary tract.
Restoring urinary function and quality of life
Each year, hundreds of patients come to us for reconstruction of the urinary tract following cancer, cancer treatments, accidents, or congenital conditions. Many also seek care for incontinence or other urinary tract disorders.
Our surgeons use advanced techniques to restore function and quality of life. Procedures include bladder replacement, repair of injuries caused by burns or genital trauma, reconstruction during tumor removal, and correction of ureteropelvic junction (UPJ) obstruction.

We offer comprehensive evaluation, individualized treatment plans, and coordinated care from surgeons experienced in restoring urinary function and quality of life.
Comprehensive evaluation
Your visit begins with an evaluation of your symptoms, medical history, and test results. We take time to understand how your condition affects your daily life and goals.
Research-driven innovation
Our team contributes to basic science and clinical research that advances the quality, safety, and effectiveness of reconstructive urologic treatments.
Advanced surgical expertise
If surgery is needed, our surgeons are skilled in complex reconstruction, including repair for genitourinary burns and penile cancer and creation of neobladders.
Minimally-invasive options
When appropriate, our surgeons use minimally invasive techniques to reduce pain, shorten recovery time, and help you return to daily activities sooner.
