Virtual Urgent Care

Mass General Brigham offers convenient, high-quality virtual urgent care services for many health conditions and minor injuries.

Established patients can connect through a secure, interactive video visit on their tablet, smart phone, or computer 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This service is for adults and children ages 3 and older. Anyone under the age of 18 will need to be accompanied by an adult.

Virtual urgent care is NOT for medical emergencies. For medical emergencies, call 911.

What conditions are treated?

Providers can diagnose, offer treatment, and prescribe medication, if medically necessary, for many health conditions, including:

  • Bug or insect bite
  • Cold and flu
  • Cough
  • COVID-19 Concerns
  • Diarrhea
  • Fever
  • Headache
  • Heartburn
  • Mild Asthma
  • Minor Injury
  • New back pain
  • Pink Eye (conjunctivitis) without vision loss
  • Rash or skin infection
  • Sinus pressure
  • Sore throat
  • Yeast infection

AllWays Health Partners members

    For established Mass General Brigham patients located in Massachusetts

    • Patient Gateway users, between 7 a.m. - 11 p.m.

      For established patients located in Massachusetts with a Patient Gateway account, virtual urgent care is available through the Patient Gateway platform. This service offers virtual urgent care from 7 a.m. - 11 p.m., 7 days a week.

      By using Patient Gateway for virtual urgent care, patients can expect to:

      • Be seen by a Mass General Brigham provider
      • Have the after visit summary be logged in the patient's Patient Gateway account
      • The patient's primary care and/or specialty care provider(s) will receive a notification of the urgent care appointment for any necessary follow-up care

      Cost to patients: Virtual care visits are available to established Mass General Brigham patients (ages 3+) in Massachusetts. Your cost-sharing for these urgent care services will depend on your health plan type. If you have questions, please contact the Member Services Department of your health plan for specifics regarding your coverage.

      Mass General Brigham will work with your health plan to bill for any amount owed after your visit. By participating in a virtual urgent care visit with Mass General Brigham, you agree to be financially responsible for payment for the services provided to you. If it is later determined that your insurance coverage changed or was not active on the day of your visit, or does not cover virtual urgent care services, you agree to be responsible for payment of the visit and you authorize Mass General Brigham to charge you the cost of the service.

      If you are not a Patient Gateway patient, please create an account or see the non-Patient Gateway virtual urgent care option below.

    • Non-Patient Gateway users, between 7 a.m. - 11 p.m.

      For established Mass General Brigham patients located in Massachusetts without a Patient Gateway account, On Demand serves as a platform for virtual urgent care needs. On Demand offers virtual urgent care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

      Cost to patients: Virtual care visits are available to established Mass General Brigham patients (ages 3+) in Massachusetts with no charge prior to the visit. Your cost-sharing for these urgent care services will depend on your health plan type. If you have questions, please contact the Member Services Department of your health plan for specifics regarding your coverage.

      Cost to patients: Virtual care visits are available to established Mass General Brigham patients (ages 3+) in Massachusetts with no charge prior to the visit.     For AllWays Health Partners members located anywhere in the United States with a commercial plan, On Demand offers virtual urgent care. For patients in Massachusetts, providers from throughout the Mass General Brigham system will deliver services. For patients outside of Massachusetts, Teladoc providers will deliver services.

    Cost: Your cost-sharing for these virtual urgent care services from AllWays Health Partners will be the same or less than a visit with your Primary Care Provider. Check your AllWays Health Partners Schedule of Benefits for your specific cost sharing.

    How to use: If you already have an account (or after you create one), you can start your virtual health visit by clicking the button link below.
