<p><strong>Vandana Madhavan, MD, MPH, </strong>is a pediatric infectious disease (ID) specialist and hospitalist, as well as primary care pediatrician, at MGB<em>f</em>C. She is clinical director and physician quality champion for the pediatric ID division. Dr. Madhavan is also the director of the pediatric advanced clerkship at MGH, and is active in resident and fellow education as an advisor, coach, core faculty educator, and member of multiple committees.</p> <p>While an undergraduate at Harvard College, she worked in an ID lab at Mass General for her senior thesis. After medical school at the University of Virginia, Dr. Madhavan completed pediatric residency and chief residency at MGHfC. She then completed pediatric infectious diseases and health services research fellowships at Boston Children's Hospital and Harvard, respectively. She also earned her MPH at HSPH, focusing her research on vaccine uptake rates in diverse populations. After training, she initially served as medical director of inpatient pediatrics, site director of the residency program and started clinics in pediatric ID and tuberculosis at Salem Hospital. During the Mass General Brigham transition to a new electronic medical record, she was the clinical implementation lead for ambulatory pediatrics. Her academic interests include tuberculosis, childhood vaccinations, Zika virus, underserved populations, telemedicine, quality improvement and undergraduate/graduate medical education.</p>
