Patients and visitors are screened for COVID-19 multiple times before entering Mass General Brigham facilities.
If you are an outpatient, you will be screened two or three days before your appointment. You may be asked to fill out an online questionnaire in Patient Gateway's eCheck-in or the clinical practice may call you and ask questions about COVID-19.
If you have symptoms that could be COVID-19 or if you have been diagnosed or exposed to someone with COVID-19 in the past 14 days, your appointment may be rescheduled to another day or you may be seen in a different clinical area.
If you have a visitor or support person to accompany you, they will also be screened for COVID-19. If your visitor or support person has symptoms that could be COVID-19 or has been diagnosed or exposed to COVID-19 in the past 14 days, they unfortunately cannot come to your appointment. We ask that you seek a different visitor or support person to accompany you or reschedule your appointment to ensure the safety of our patients, visitors, and staff.
On the day of your appointment, a COVID-19 screening may be done, depending on how your doctor's office handles screening:
Your doctor's office will direct you on how they will screen you for COVID-19. If you have a visitor or support person, they will also be screened for COVID-19. They can do so online or will be screened when they arrive with you.
Thank you for your cooperation.
