About our comprehensive autism care center

At the Lurie Center for Autism, we believe that people with autism and developmental disabilities deserve to be viewed as individuals. They each have their own personal talents, strengths, and challenges.

How to schedule an appointment

Currently, we accept referrals from Mass General Brigham clinicians for autism diagnostic evaluations for children ages 5 and younger with concerns about a possible autism diagnosis. Due to high demand and limited capacity, we are not able to accept all referral types at this time. Referral criteria may change as appointment availability and program capacity evolve.

Mass General Brigham clinicians can submit referrals through the internal system. All patients must be referred by a Mass General Brigham clinician.

Before requesting a new appointment, please call the MGH Registration and Referral Center at 866-211-6588 to complete registration and obtain an MGH patient number (medical record number).

If you are an active patient at the Lurie Center for Autism (seen within the past three years) and need to schedule your next appointment, please call 781-860-1700 or contact us through Patient Gateway.

Research that advances autism care
Advancing research is central to the mission of the Lurie Center for Autism. Our team studies the causes and treatment of autism spectrum disorder and other developmental conditions, with a focus on translating discoveries into exceptional clinical care over a lifetime.
Education and guidance for families

We provide resources and information to help answer common questions about autism. These materials are evidence based and reviewed by credentialed professionals on our staff. During care, patients and families receive these resources to help them better understand autism and access appropriate support and services.

We also offer virtual education programs, including:

  • Coffee Convo presentation series: We are committed to providing ongoing evidence-based learning and training opportunities for patients, families, and professionals. Our popular Coffee Convo presentation series runs monthly throughout the year. Coffee Convo events are presented virtually on Wednesday evenings from 6:30pm – 7:30pm. All events are free and open to the public. Registration is required. Registration opens four weeks prior to each event. To register online, follow us on Facebook. To receive online registration emails, subscribe here.
  • Parent and caregiver workshops: We invite parents, guardians, and families to participate in our parent and caregiver workshops. All workshops are held virtually and open to the public. Registration is required. Reserve your spot by contacting us at LurieCenter@mgb.org or 781-860-1700. Virtual meeting links will be emailed to all confirmed registrants prior to event day.
