General Dermatology
Comprehensive dermatology care for skin, hair, and nails
Mass General Brigham Dermatology is dedicated to excellence in patient care. General, medical, and surgical dermatology represents the core focus of our large ambulatory practice at our urban and suburban practice locations over the greater Boston metropolitan area. Our practices are comprised of nationally and internationally renowned board-certified dermatologists who provide comprehensive and state-of-the-art dermatologic care to our patients. The broad clinical expertise of our dermatologists allows us to provide unparalleled care to a broad population of patients.
The outpatient general dermatology clinics are comprised of medical and procedural dermatology. Our patients have variety of all skin disorders, ranging from skin cancer, atypical nevi, and rosacea to complex medical dermatologic conditions. From a procedural standpoint, general dermatology visits include biopsies, excisions, and other in-office dermatologic procedures. Many of our physicians have both general dermatology clinics as well as advanced medical and subspecialty dermatology clinics.
We serve a broad community of patients referred by primary care physicians, specialists, dermatologists, and self‑referrals from across the region and beyond.
When needed, our general dermatologists and subspecialists work together to manage complex conditions like skin cancer. You receive high-level care from trusted dermatology experts.
Personalized dermatology care
When you come to Mass General Brigham for dermatology care, you benefit from:
- Wide range of dermatology subspecialties, which allow us to manage all of your dermatologic needs
- Full-service phototherapy program with specialized equipment for treating even the rarest skin conditions
- Electronic medical records and electronic prescriptions, which improve patient safety and aid communication between you and your providers
- Pediatric dermatology services with Mass General Brigham for Children
During your first visit or a routine skin examination, a dermatologist will:
- Examine your skin and check for conditions, including skin cancer
- Learn about your skin, hair, or nail concerns
- Review your health history
- Recommend treatments, if needed
Because we’re a teaching institution affiliated with Harvard Medical School, you may also see a dermatology resident or fellow along with your provider. We find that having this additional perspective on diagnosis and treatments enhances your level of care.
