Autoimmune Skin Disease Program

Living with an autoimmune skin disease can be challenging. These conditions can affect your skin, as well as organs, joints, and tissues. Our dermatologists in this specialized program are experts in the diagnosis and management of autoimmune skin disease. Given the multisystem nature of many autoimmune conditions, we routinely partner with other specialists to provide comprehensive, collaborative, and specialized care tailored to help you meet your care goals.

Expert care for all types of autoimmune skin diseases

Your immune system helps protect against germs. But sometimes, it makes mistakes like attacking healthy cells, and in doing so, causing an autoimmune disease. Autoimmune skin disease can cause a range of conditions, from skin rashes, hardened skin, blisters, and other symptoms. Our dermatologists have specialized expertise in caring for these complex, difficult-to-treat skin diseases.

Mass General Brigham houses one of the largest Autoimmune Skin Disease Programs in the world. Our experts are uniquely trained to provide up to date, novel, and cutting-edge treatment options for all patients with autoimmune skin disease—including newly diagnosed or difficult-to-treat disease.
