Our approach to orthopedic oncology care

Our team develops a personalized treatment plan focused on safety, precision, and long-term function. We take the time to understand your goals and support you through every phase of care.
Personalized treatment options

Care is tailored to your tumor type, health, and goals. Every patient receives a customized plan that may include:

  • Surgery, including limb-sparing and reconstructive techniques
  • Chemotherapy
  • Radiation therapy
  • Minimally invasive procedures such as ablation or percutaneous (small incisions) skeletal stabilization
  • Physical and occupational therapy to support recovery and mobility
Collaborative care for bone and soft-tissue tumors
We combine the expertise of board-certified orthopedic oncologists with other specialists, including radiation oncologists and pathologists, to accurately diagnose and treat these complex cancers. We work as a team to bring adults and children with soft tissue tumors and bone cancers the most advanced care.
Comprehensive support throughout treatment and recovery
We support patients before, during, and after treatment with access to rehabilitation services, physical therapy, and mental health support when needed. After treatment, your care team helps coordinate follow-up care and recovery services to support healing and quality of life.

Chris Kordos was a 19-year-old college freshman when he was diagnosed with a rare chordoma that was pushing deep into his brain. Thanks to pioneering proton therapy radiation at Mass General Brigham, today Chris is a married father of two who looks forward to mountain biking.
